A Thai group just setting up, playing covers of heavy rock numbers - so Peter opted for a beer-stop here. The picture of Peter is to prove he really went on holiday (since he is normally behind the camera). The venue is a pleasant outdoor restaurant, also on Loikroh Road, movie (7.9 Mb) here. Unfortunately, Peter's new shirt only lasted a few days before being left behind in Viang Veng.

A new spa-type resort just opened across the river, so a little further out but very peaceful. Peter found this on his way to the Arcade bus station to book the Chiang Khong tickets. More expensive than the Raming Lodge, but some hefty discounts were available - and the pool is nice.
