Buxton The big day is taking place in the Spa Town of Buxton at the heart of the Peak District National Park. Buxton is less than an hours journey from Manchester and Sheffield. Set 1000 feet above sea level amidst the dramatic Peak District landscape, Buxton has been a popular holiday resort for centuries. The Big Day It will begin with lunch at the Old Hall Hotel at 1pm for immediate family and close friends. The wedding ceremony will begin at 3.30pm in The Conservatory, part of The Pavillion Gardens. Champagne will be served immediately after the ceremony before moving onto the Old Hall Hotel for canapes and mulled wine. The evening reception will kick off at 7.30pm at The Orchestra Pit (part of The Old Hall Hotel) for a live band and hot food. The last song will finish at midnight.
