Lunch at the Old Hall, Saturday 25 November, 2006
We had a lunch for 18 family and friends at the Old Hall in the Cavendish room. We had agreed a menu with the Old Hall in advance, with some dishes having a local Derbyshire flavour. Everyone had to pick in advance - which proved very difficult for some people (Peter included) - and even harder on the day when Tracy was required to remind everyone of their choices. Click the menu to see why it was so difficult. |

Anticlockwise from right is Bernie, Hilary, Steve, Diane, Pauline, Malcolm, Alix, Margaret and (some of) Aimie. Somehow we managed to get through 6 bottles of white wine and 7 red between us (not to mention the cider) - thank goodness some weren't drinking. |

Consulting the menu - just what did I order? From back to front: Steve, Hilary, Bernie, Peter, Tracy, Gaynor and John. The red was a particularly fine Rioja and the white an excellent unoaked Chardonnay. Peter and Tracy had undertaken the arduous task of wine tasting the week before - what we suffered for our guests! |
